Riffstock 2011 is happening October 8th! Celebrating the 5th year of this virtual festival, we will be bringing 16+ hours of live entertainment to your airwaves and virtual lives, all broadcast LIVE here at Radio Riff, starting at 7 AM PST! Past events have included such luminaries as SpaceJunky, Deepsky Traveller, Anek Fuchs, Skye Galaxy, Friendly Fire, and many, many more! Every year we pack as many back-to-back live bands and entertainers that we can into an amazing, 1-day fest guaranteed to satisfy your musical cravings, and all for FREE! This is our biggest year ever, including not 1, not 2 but 3 full, live bands for you to enjoy, along with 12 other live solo and duo performers! With Jolly Rox out of Italy kicking it off, we start big with a full performance by a group with a unique sound guaranteed to please!
Alex Mays follows out of Michigan, playing his first guitar since the age of 10. He has been writing music for over 15 years now, and brings a diverse style that ranges into Rock, Blues and Southern Rock. He brings a honest performance straight from the heart. After her, Boxing Dei Dei is a 1-2 punch of guitar and vocal talent bringing a fresh and exciting splash to the online airwaves. With the voice of MRazz and the guitar work of Tony, you will be left wanting even more. Following them, Hazie Moonwall blends piano, guitar and an amazing voice and wit to create a performance sure to please. He currently performs not only solo but with his band “Between Love and Hate”, based in Florida.
Bringing us into the afternoon is a DJ veteran of both Radio Riff and Netrock 101, Aurora (Auz) Losangeles! If you’ve heard her smooth voice talking between some of the most rocking sets on radio, then wait until you hear her sing! She’s followed by a guitar virtuoso and 2009 LEMA award winner in Anek Fuchs. By any account, Anek’s guitar work ranks among the best you will ever have the privilege of hearing, and is not to be missed!
The afternoon starts with a musical visionary in FacelessApe, who stretches, bends and blends genres into one mind-blowing ride with his music. He is then joined by the rest of his band, DeepSky Traveler, for a total trip into experimental rock. We’re then lead into the deep afternoon with the mellow grooves of Lehman Shinn. Lehman is a Riffstock veteran and always is welcomed back for his smooth voice and relaxing tunes that go perfectly with a fall afternoon.
AcousticEnergy Niteley brings the tempo back up, drawing on 25 years of experience writing and performing music across the globe. With original guitarwork and soaring vocals, you will see just how much range one performer can encompass as he covers the breadth of rock from classic ballads to GnR. Allister Westland follows with his deep and rich experience across a variety of instruments. A 20 year veteran of the music scene, Allister has performed with many bands and won several awards for his musicianship.
Gina Stella brings us back to the roots to kick off the evening with a soulful acoustic and voice set, reminding us of some of the greats of the past. Encompassing both smooth and a little edge in her vocals, Gina is sure to provide an amazing musical experience.
Like the calm before the storm, the evening suddenly picks up when Canadian tribute band Number of the Priest brings an evening of metal to the stage. With daring vocals encompassing both Halford and Dickinson, as well as blistering guitar-work and precision playing, this band will give fans the Iron Maiden and Judas Priest love they crave!
Avantegarde Frequency follows into the deep night, bringing a wall of sound that will be sure to please. Engineering and playing all of his own instruments and compositions, Avant brings his phenomenal talents to bear along with a fantastic voice and presence. He is followed by Frets Nirvana who brings a wide range of acoustic guitar licks to stage and ear ranging from classics such as surf guitar to acoustic takes on rock staples, and originals in between. Sure to satisfy the guitar aficionados out there!
Capping the event as our headliners are Mexican rockers TurboDiablo! Hailing from Monterrey, they bring a combination of hard Riffs and soaring vocals arranged to feed your rock needs. We guarantee these hard rockin, party animals will leave you satisfied and cap off the biggest day of music you’ve ever heard online!
This event is unlike anything on net radio. A full day of back to back bands and performers covering the breadth of rock from classic to current, soft to hard, and everything in between.
